Beschreibung:
Organisationen weltweit wenden eine immer größer werdende Anzahl von Qualitätsstandards und modellbasierten Verbesserungsansätzen an, wie z.B. CMMI, ITIL, Six Sigma und viele weitere. Damit versuchen sie, ihre Prozess- und Produktqualität sowie Wettbewerbsfähigkeit dauerhaft zu verbessern.

Typischerweise erfolgt die Einführung und Umsetzung der verschiedenen Qualitätsmodelle dann in einzelnen, nicht untereinander abgestimmten Verbesserungsinitiativen. Dies führt oft zum Scheitern oder zumindest zur ineffizienten Einführung, da die verschiedenen Qualitätsmodelle vielfach in Konkurrenz zueinander gesehen werden, die gegenseitig um begrenzte organisatorische Ressourcen kämpfen. Häufig werden auch für die Einführung der verschiedenen Verbesserungsmodelle unterschiedliche Einführungsstrategien gewählt, was zu unnötigem Mehraufwand führt.

Die Herausforderung für immer mehr Organisationen ist daher die Beherrschung der Vielfalt von Verbesserungsmodellen und die Ausnutzung von Gemeinsamkeiten statt der redundanten oder gar konkurrierenden Umsetzung jedes einzelnen Verbesserungsansatzes.

Angesichts dieser Herausforderungen hat das Software Engineering Institute (SEI) begonnen, einen methodischen Ansatz (PrIME – Process Improvement in Multimodel Environments) zu entwickeln, der Organisationen bei der erfolgreichen Umsetzung von „Multimodell-Verbesserungsprogrammen” unterstützen soll.

Der halbtägige Workshop hat zum Ziel, die Teilnehmer in den PrIME-Ansatz einzuführen. Gemeinsam mit den Teilnehmern wird durch aktive Diskussion und Erfahrungsaustausch praktisch erprobt, wie PrIME in konkreten Situationen die erfolgreiche Umsetzung von Multimodell-Verbesserungsprogrammen unterstützen kann.

Referenten:

Patrick Kirwan is as a senior member of the technical staff at the Software Engineering Institute in Europe. He is currently working on the challenges associated with the effective transition of new technology to industry in multi-model improvement environments. His research interests also include the challenges associated with building large interoperable systems of systems as part of the Integration of Software-Intensive Systems (ISIS) initiative.

Urs Andelfinger is a visiting scientist at the Software Engineering Institute in Europe and a professor of software and business engineering at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Germany. He is currently working on effective process improvement adoption approaches with a focus on the financial industry. He has 12 years’ industry and consulting experience in the banking and automotive domains.

Vortragsweise: (Workshops wird in deutscher Sprache durchgeführt)
The workshop will consist of a combination of presentations and moderated discussions with the participants. An integral case study is used to assess with the participants the problems normally encountered in multi-model environments and identify possible ways to remove or at least reduce their presence using the PrIME Approach.

Vorkenntnisse der Teilnehmer:
The intended audience consists of managers, quality engineers and other people involved in driving and implementing quality-related models. Active participation in the workshop is required. No formal qualification requirements, but hands-on experience with process improvement is highly recommended.

Introduce participants into the challenges of multi model process improvement
Introduce participants into SEI’s PrIME framework
Foster an interactive discussion with participants about efficient multi model process im-provement, e.g.
- How to select and execute Improvement Methods across improvement programs
- How to run improvement cycles that integrate several models
- How to select and integrate relevant Good-Practice Elements
- How to generate and use common institutionalization standards
